TEM sample processing training

What exactly is sample processing?

For TEM imaging projects, sample processing begins with immobilization of your cells/tissue or particles of interest. This can be done in a variety of ways, including high-pressure freezing, plunge freezing or chemical fixation. The choice of immobilization is highly sample dependent. After immobilization, the sample will be embedded in resin for ultramicrotomy.

There are myriad ways to process samples and for this reason we choose not to highlight any one method here. Please contact Miki (bif.manager@ubc.ca) for specific information about your sample and your project.
