UBC Tissue Clearing and Expansion 2024 workshop!

Biological specimens are intrinsically difficult to image. Most tools and methods cut two-dimensional sections of tissue samples to provide insight into their structure obscuring the 3d nature of tissues and organs. On the other hand, imaging deep into intact tissues brings its own problems resulting from light scattering and the limitations of most commercial microscopes.

Techniques to eliminate this scatter and provide understanding into the 3d structure of tissues and organs have been developed, however to our knowledge these techniques are under-utilized in research labs in BC. Through our series of workshops beginning in 2017 we are building the community of local labs that are able to deploy these complex tissue processing techniques, read out the samples on our conventional and lattice light sheet microscopes and conduct increasingly sophisticated analyses of the resulting data.

Please join us on Thursday May 2, 2024 9AM-5PM for the 4th workshop in our series.
