The fungus was stained with Alexa fluor 488, and the plant was stained with propidium iodide. The Z-depth of the image is colour coded with red (top of the sample) to blue (bottom of the sample) in the range of 250 micrometers in depth (left image), and 110 micrometers in depth (right image).
