We provide both training and service for sample preparation and imaging. If you want to use the equipment by yourself, you need to get training from us.

Please fill in and submit the Service/Training Enquiry Form available at the link above. Miki Fujita, BIF Research Manager, will arrange a meeting with you and the BIF staff to learn more about your project and to discuss the workflow, timeline and cost.

Training

We provide hands-on training sessions on the equipment.

• For optical microscopy training, a one-on-one training session takes up to 2 hours for the Olympus BX53 microscope and 3-4hr for the Leica Stellaris 8 DIVE confocal microscope and Evident SpinSR spinning disk confocal microscope.
• For SEM and TEM, new users will be asked to take the BIF Canvas online training course (self-paced course) prior to one-on-one hands-on training sessions (3 sessions of 3 hours each).
• For the sample preparation and microtome training, it takes at least a half day for the sample preparation technique and a whole day for microtome training.

Service

We accept projects/samples on a first-come, first-serve basis. Depending on the facility occupancy, some delays may be expected.
