The newest generation of ultramicrotome available from Leica Microsystems, the UC7 is equipped with a digital interface for custom control. This ultramicrotome is designed for cutting ultra-thin sections (<100nm) of resin embedded material for TEM. A colour digital camera and large display makes this ultramicrotome very useful for instruction. When coupled to the Leica FC7, the newest generation of ultramicrotome cryo-chamber, the UC7/FC7 becomes a cryo-ultramicrotome capable of maintaining temperatures as low as -160 C for cutting frozen samples for the Tokuyasu technique for immunolabeling as well as high-pressure frozen samples for CEMOVIS.
